The large male puppet, in beautiful blue robes and a most unusual
mortar-board style hat introduces himself as Liu Che, a scribe in the old
kingdom of the Maker. He says that the party should be safe in here from
the ghosts, for they were a simple patrol seeking those outside the
curfew. "You were lucky", he remarks. "The usually possess the body, and
release the bound soul, to become part of the army of the Wizard. The body
then is used for experiments or fertiliser."

"Things have become terrible since the Maker disappeared. The General and
the Wizard, oh how they've changed! The Wizard kept to his own castle
engaging in his experiments of knowledge - some say that he would have
understood all spirits if left to his own devices. The General used to
organise the city - and he did such a good job! But now we see that both
harboured a desire to control and when the Maker left with that cursed
hole in the fabric of the sky - well, you see how they behave."

"But I have spoken too much, and I am now ranting like and old man who
remembers better days. I should deal with what is hear now. I see from
your banner that you are from the land of the General, and yet you are
also strangers to this land. What news can you bring from beyond the Wall?
I haven't even heard from my dear wife Zifu since the Wall went up."
