Given Rikku's knowledge of the world and how it came to be, he would have no 
problem attempting the plan, even if it were risky. He just wants to get out of 
there. Also, Rikku has "See Patterns Of The World" which may provide assistance 
in assessing the situation we are in, and also observing how the patterns of the 
world change when Banner Plan is put into effect - ie. if Rikku starts to see 
bad things happening in the make-up of the world he will know it is time to run 
like heck, and also if the make-up of the world changes and provides 
opportunities for exploit we could use them.
 
Anyway, just ideas.
