Zifu points upwards out of a window; from this vantage point all of
Puppetland can be seen. On one side there is an enormous tower made of
iron with steam pouring out of its sides and with the clank of metal on
metal, and puppet guards marching around the parapets. On the other side
is another tower, equally tall, but enshrouded in darkness with ghostly
apparitions flying around it and the howling of the dead. Between the
two and half as high again is a dark canvas and in that canvas is a torn
hole which light does not penetrate.
"In there", she whispers. "That is where the Maker was".
