Rotterex yells to the iron puppets "Kalen is like you, made of iron.  He might be able help you in some
 way.  Maybe we can help each other - discover the reason for the hole, and a way for us to get back to our world and leave you".  (Kalen might even share his love of tinned food).  Rotterex continues "We are strangers here and h'ave done nothing to you, we don't understand why you are attacking. "  


Rotterex moves slowly closer to Kalen to see if he is still 'alive' - Rotterex notices an almost blank screen with some small white writing "Need to reboot" - wondering what this means he examines Kalen's body and notices a button on the back of his neck and presses it- having no idea what will happen, if anything....

With the Mostal down, the Fellowship members charge in to save the Dwarf.
The Seeker closes against the Iron Guards with Rikku by his side [you have
to defeat the Guards before you can heal Kalen], and Jareena close behind.
One of the Iron Guards closes to meet them, as Dorassa and Ka strike the
guard with axes and spears respectively. The axe and spear crash into the
Guard, throwing in off balanace, whereas the dragonewt strikes his
traditional weapons throwing the creature aside as Rikku clips it on the
nape of its armoured neck with his sickle.

[Iron Guard Sword 7W (-5 due to water, -3 due to multiple opponents)
versus The Seeker 5W aided by Dorassa +5, aided by by Ka +4, and Rikku +8
= 2W2, roll 8 versus 16, failure versus failure, Iron Guard failure bumped
to success, Fellowship failure bumped to success and critical - marginal
success to Fellowship, minor wound and positional advantage].

Meanwhile the second Iron Guard strikes at the unconscious Mostal, raising
its sword slowly and bringing it down for the killing blow. Satisfied with
its work the Guard turns and marches up the stairs to confront the new
enemy.

[Iron Guard 10W2 (positional advantage +20, in water -5) versus Kalen 0
(unconscious). 18 versus 10, failure versus failure, Iron Guard's failure
boosted to success and critical versus failure. Second major defeat for
Kalen.]

Unable to use their axes and spears effectively due combat being on a
narrow staircase, it is only Rikku and The Seeker who fight the first Iron
Guard, again using the combination of exotic weapons. The Guard weilds its
sword expertly, striking at the armoured Dragonewt but failing to connect.

[Iron Guard 10W, versus The Seeker 5W aided by Rikku +8, 13W, roll 18
versus 17, marginal success for Fellowship]

The Iron Guards repositions themselves on the staircase so they can hold a
defensive stance and engage in synchronised maneuvers... Just they advance
step-by-step, Azhur Sinnerbane, elect King of Seshnela, appears above with
two more Iron Guards by his side and a middle-aged man.. "Stop!", calls
out Azhur. "I have leave from The General of Puppetland, that this
conflict must stop!".

With a wave of his hand, the Iron Guards stand down...
