He can bear some heavy material for the marching army permitting a greater 
manoeuvrability.
He can impress or lure the enemy even without fighting
He can build forts and strongholds at an unusual speed...

He is a valuable ally even under these conditions and I haven't said my last 
word :-)

Hmmmm. Group discussion time. What ways can we use him. Perhaps he can lend us 
weapons/magic or help in some kind of defensive way on the battlefield, that 
won't technically be causing bloodshed. Those are my thoughts. Others?
