In front of the always surprisingly vastness of Rikku 's vanity, Azhur smiled, amused, but he adressed to the bandits more seriously, asking Guillaume Faust to translate in the local tongue:
- "I'm sincerely honored to meet you Great General Ho Ki ! The universe be my witness, I was just praying this night to meet someone of your class. I'm Azhur the Sinnersbane, called by this nickname in my country because I'm well used to hang dangerous brigands when I meet some. If you dare to fight now our frightening and sincere sorcerors and our mighty and determined warriors, learn that if you survive the confrontation, the rest of your forces will then have to face the army of the so called "wicked and authoritarian monarchy of Lei Tabor" for what you see here is only its forced vanguard marching against our will to our destiny... think twice before accepting this challenge, because the result can be deadly ! On the other hand, if you think that fruitful negociations can be an honorable outcome, then we may propose to you a quite mutually beneficial deal..."

While the bandits were assessing this news, Azhur asked Guillaume Faust in Seshnegi :
- "What is this 'Provisional People's Democratic Republic of Lei Tabor'? Simple bandits or a real known opposition to Lord Lei Tse? Could we trust them in anyway? I could see a role for energetic adventurers looking for a better place after the coming turmoil... but I don't want to change Lord Lei Tse for a crueller ruler... by the way did you get my letter this night ? Did you find the time to contact the people of Yao Fune? Could they raise as a real political power?"

Scene 106: The People's Popular Front of Lei Tabor

With Azhur's arguments and the Seeker's authority, Ran Fushi felt there
was no choice but to agree to a morning journey to the Iron Fort.
Further, a request to have Guillaume Faust take leave and join the party
for the purposes of establishing ingress to the Fort was granted. With
Guillaume of course, along came Rotterex.

Greeting the morning sun, praise be to Yelm, the rump Fellowship, and
assorted associates began their journey to the Iron Fort. It was but
several hours journey, but slowed somewhat by their large number.
Approximately halfway to the Iron Fort, on a bridge crossing a small
stream, they were confronted by another band; these was a group of men
in gaudy uniforms, armed, with light armour and riding horses. Along
with them was an assortment of non-humans, several ducks, a troll, and
trollkin. They called the party to halt.

"I am General Ho Ki, of the Provisional People's Democratic Republic of
Lei Tabor, and these are our lands. We are well-aided by our loyal
allies of the Via Duck Mercenaries and we shall protect what we have
wrested from the wicked, authoritarian monarchy that resides in the
glorious city of Lei Tabor, which one day we shall take, as it rightly
ours."

"These are our lands, and we would appreciate that you follow our laws.
Of course, there is also a toll to enter - for maintenance of law and
order, and roads, and the provision of the military. A price of ummm...
one silver piece per head... Including steeds, for they do great damage
to our marginal land."

"Of course", the General remarked, looking at the obvious military
prowress of the force, "You could also choose to align yourself with the
Provisional government and receive a just share of the spoils of victory
when we take the city. What say you?"
