At first Jin Wu looks a little sad and worried, not that a lizard would
necessarily pick up on such subtle human emotional states. But when the
Seeker brings up the matter of the future, her face brightens. The
leaves the room quickly.
About ten hours later when the Seeker and his friends are thoroughly
refreshed. Jin Wu enthusiastically comes into the room and introduces
you to an serious looking older bearded man in very fine clothes. He
introduces himself in Auld Wyrmish, or at least a reasonable
approximation thereof.
"I am Ran Fushi. I represent the Lord Lei Tse. I have received
information that his recently purchased foreigners were formerly your
servants. This provides most interesting possibilities. We may be
prepared to sell, as you are prepared to buy."
"I have spoken to my Lord. He is currently planning an invasion of an
Iron Fort, but your arrival allows for the possibility of a more
complete and successful exchange, with a minimal loss of bloodshed. It
is our offer that you be allowed to enter the Black Iron Fort with your
current and former slaves. Once inside we would wish to open the
drawbridge at the third hour after midnight, whereupon the forces of Lei
Tabor can enter with minimal opposition."
"After that our gratitude would be as such that you would be able to
have your slaves back."
"We require, of course, that you swear an oath to
Ouroboros to carry out this task."
"I notice that your tail is almost fully grown. Take your time on this
decision, and seek a balance between impulsiveness and caution. Consult
who you wish on this matter, and seek a balance between leader and
follower. Consider me and my words, and seek a balance between
suspicious and trusting."
"When you have finished your deliberations, send Jin Wu to seek me out".
The Seeker cannot help but feel a little concerned with how much this
human knows about the secrets of dragonkind.
