As soon as the newcomers appeared to be some of the fabled beast-riders of Prax, Azhur turned to the beautiful reindeer-woman Karala.
- "Who said that the choice of some hunshen people for the Talor's Fellowhisp wasn't appropriate? commented the Westerner with respect. Karala, do you think you can use of your magical music instrument and your shamanistic talents to create a positive outcome at this encounter? I will protect your life with my sword and shield if we need to meet them too closely."

[OOC]
I hope that Karala is still with us, if not: please tell me and discard this.

Objet : [HQ Ignorance] Scene 97: Feverish Searches and Nomad Raiders

Whilst the Serendiptous Dragonewt, Swordsinger, Isma, and Dorassa take
some supplies into to the jungles in the east in search of habitation,
Azhur remains behind with Jareena, Eurynome, Kalen and Rotterex and the
other associated followers building a more permanent camp for the next
few days. The search [Track 17 vs Evidence 13, roll 19 vs roll 12] is
unsuccessful in finding actual people. What Dorassa does discover is
more disturbing however; evidence abounds, in the form of broken weapons
and broken bones, of many and varied battles. The river valley seems
littered with evidence of many battles over decades, some of them quite
recent. There is no evidence however, of current armies of any sort.

By the third day however, Swordsinger, Isma and Dorassa begin to fall
ill of some unknown illness, a hot spirit seeming to infect their bodies
[Appropriate resistances requested]. Only the Dragonewt seems
unaffected.

Meanwhile back at the campsite, on the fourth day Jareena spots a cloud
of dust coming from the north [roll 16 vs roll 20, perception vs
stealth]. The party quickly prepares itself thinking of Isma's previous
warnings of the possibility of Broo and other Chaos creatures. There is
a somewhat sense of relief when the camp is surrounded by three score
barbarians with longspears riding great camels; their intent certainly
looks hostile.
