The lunar wizard looked up at the mighty cliffs and picked up a rough
rock in his hand, seemingly amused "One day the shimmering walls of
Glamour will be like this. Blue moon, Red moon, this is how they end."
He squints as he looks back up towards the plateau, still muttering as
much to himself as to his companion "So it has fallen to earth but it is
still moon-stuff. Perhaps that is why they say its very nature is poison
to the likes of you and me, normal folk are not supposed to walk on the
moon and parts of those rocks might still remember what they are. Maybe
that power would not harm me, maybe it would but I doubt if you would
have any luck with it so the trick will be to avoid the worst of it."
He takes out his maps and begins to look from them to the scene in front
of him and back
"So we have two ways to find this great devotee of the Blue Moon. We can
go in as normal folk and take the risks of the plateau and ask the
locals where we can find him. Or we can follow the heroquest path onto
the moon and seek out its champion.
If we had a congregation praying for our success I might think that the
heroquest path was the best way. But we don't. So I guess we go in the
way of traders and diplomats rather than the way of the heroes of
legends. If this is stuff of the moon then I have the eyes to see it, to
find a way between the places of power and danger. Then there is always
trade, the empire will trade with anyone and anything and where there is
trade there are trade routes - although not always easy ones. So now I
have their map and its just the same old story as the rest of my life,
find a way in to deliver the message and hope we get out again without
having our vitals eaten. If I am distracted by my moon-sight trying to
avoid the lunar power that makes the plateau poison then I might need
you to look out for spirits and stuff. So let's try that and if we
cannot make it through maybe we will have to enter as heroes after all."
OOC: Some combination of Moon Eye, Assess Quickest Route and Map of
Northern Peloria. Either of the first two might be the active ability
depending on exactly what the main challenge is.
