The camel-riders look around at the distribution of forces.. Three-score
individuals versus less than a half-dozen. Whilst they do not seem very
convinced that they will lose, the threat of foreign magic does raise a
quizzical eyebrow.

The adviser waves his hands and his eyes roll back in his head. Jareena
looks at him for a moment and nods; "He's using Second Sight to gauge
our Power". After several seconds the adviser talks to the leader again
and they converse.
The old man turns to Kalen, rubbing a bone on his necklace and says
"Your friend with the Wolf carries an artifact of great Power, Mostal.
But it is tainted by Chaos. Your friends are strong in the ways of magic
and no doubt you have secret Dwarvish weapons. But your friend
approached us with the the rug of peace. Our feelings are mixed. On one
hand we should kill you foreigners on the spot, take what you have and
rid the Chaotic axe. On the other hand you extend a hand of friendship
and ask for guidance and promise to pay well. The former seems easier to
us - but we will give you an opportunity to justify why we shouldn't
undertake it."
