Under the light of the Red Moon Aalmon makes his mysterious divination.
Icthya, watching, is curious to see the courier glow ever so slightly
himself with a white halo. Strange too, the Elf thought, that Aalmon
seems to struck by moon beams both red and blue. The blue beams seem to
come from the plateau whose cliff-face lurked in the distance. Icthya
was sure she could see the shadows of trolls dancing in the moonlight.
The secrets that Aalmon sought were trivial to his ability to discern
secrets, even those as hidden as the Blue Moon Trolls, followers of the
goddess Annilla. Annilla was the child of Nakal, the Primal Darkness,
and Zaramaka, the Primal Waters. Her husband was He Who Moves and she
was Queen of the Giants of old, who fought against the Dragons.
Her husband was killed by the dragons and Annilla ate the remains. After
that she gave birth to a souless child, and Annilla possessed the body.
When she did this she became the Blue Moon. Defeated by Yelm and
Dayzatar she fled to the underworld, and prepared to invade the sky
which she did by summoning an ancient blue dragon. Disguising herself as
a corpse shroud she blindfolded Yelm, but when Death came to the world
where she was broken apart, some say by Orlanth, some say by Mostal,
others say by the Rat With Hands, others say by the Serpent with Fur.
The Blue Moon Plateau is the largest piece of her broken body.
