Scene 91: Return to Nochet
Voria, the Goddess of Spring and Flowers, departed after a indeterminate
time walking among the soldiers and the auxilleries. As she passed
Azhur, she greeted him by name, and by title and stopped and spoke
directly to the Red Banner in a language that none could understand.
Then, as sudden as her arrival, she vanished and all were overcome by
her presence. After a while, Azhur noticed that the banner's props had
seemed to come alive as green shoots were sprouting.
The Orlanthi were true to their word, as were the Yelmalio. All were
allowed to return to their respective homes and an escort led by
Miranyth The Purple joined the Fellowship to Nochet. Even the most
stubborn of Orlanthi gave grudging respect to the bravery and success of
the werewolf Telmori who had fought by their side, led by Karala. The
latter thought how different these wolves were to those the Fellowship
encountered in Vustria those many months ago and whether it was being
the axe-bearer that made the difference, or whether the Telmori
themselves had changed their opinion independently.
After several day's ineventful journey, the party reached Nochet to
smell the freshness of the breese from the ocean blew into the Holy
Country. Yes, there could be no doubt about it, Orlanth was back and was
spreading his breath far and wide. Miranyth took the Fellowship back to
Nauticles were Eurynome greeted the old sage who invited all and sundry
to tell of their adventures and how they defeated the Crimson Bat and
brought Orlanth out of imprisonment. "The sun seems to shine brighter
these days", the sage explained.
During the course of the afternoon's conversation, Nauticles mentioned
that King Azhur's boat was in good order and was ready for departure
whenever he was. However, there would be one who would be attending the
journey also - and at that point he summoned from another room, a young
woman, dressed in a style that seemed to cover the professions of
noblewoman, scholar and sailor.
"After all", said Nauticles, "If you're going to travel in the lands of
Teshnos and Kralorela - and find the city of Lei Tabor - you will need a
guide who knows such lands. Especially considering that the Aldryami
seems not to be, ahh, present."
(Chris: I think this is an opportune moment to introduce your
