( a few hours hard riding later )

A bedraggled looking pair approached the gates of the holy city of
Torang, galloping past the small bands of neat pilgrims and wealthy
traders. Battered and bruised and with Aalmon's left side caked in
barely dried blood they presented a shocking contrast to the contrived
clean simplicity of the city and the pilgrims.

Aalmon spoke briefly to Icthya as they approached "Hard to know what
will happen next, I have heard the politics of the empire are more
dangerous than its armies. Let us hope we can just deliver our message,
find healers and prepare our way to head North before we get caught up
in their plots - although its probably a vain hope."

He rides towards the nearest group of gate guards, picking out a stolid
looking sergeant he rides up to him and dismounts handing the reins to
the surprised soldier "Look after it well but keep it away from any
other horses, just in case" then he looks around for a leader or officer
"I carry an urgent message for Jar-Eel from Oraya, we need a man to show
us the way and see to it that we are not delayed."
