Confusion reigns in the midst of the battle; Azhur unfurls the Red
Banner of Valour, but again with no wind to catch and bring it to life
it hangs limply in the frozen air (failure). In contrast, some number of
the Orlanthi seem to think that the banner, due its colouration and
style, represents a Lunar contingent; a point of view reinforced by the
cosmopolitan group and the presence of Telmori (resistance success,
overall minor defeat to Azhur). A great man with a red beard and an axe
as broad approaches cautiously; his rune-emblazoned armour and flared
nostrils indicating that he is indeed a Storm Bull cultist - and he
detects the smell of chaos among Karala's Telmori allies. He bellows in
argument with Minaryth who tries to explain that yes, despite all
appearances, this Fellowship are actually allies.

Under the banner, Azhur, Rikku and the Seeker stand; undecided Karala,
Eurynome and Jareena wait. Outside the banners influence and fighting
the Lunar soldiers, Karala sends first her fire spirits (success)
against a bulk of the Lunar soldiers (failure) who flee the scene (minor
success to Karala). She then hurls her boomarangs, achieving a glancing
blow (success) against a soldier (higher success, marginal victory to
Karala). Her Telmori allies led by the White Wolf set themselves upon
this soldier, but he brings his shielf in the way and slashes wildly
with his scimtar (success for Telmori, lower success for Lunar, marginal
success to Lunar). With the skills of the huntress and the elfin magic
of the speedart, Icthya lets allows fly at a prodigious rate, backed by
the Centaur spirit but the remaining Lunar soldiers rally and form a
shield and spirit wall (critical failure by Icthya - sorry! - bumped to
a failure vs success by Lunars, minor victory to the Lunars) who advance
on the Elf.

Emboldened by the new circumstances however, the Orlanthi
peasant-warriors make a desparate charge against the wall, crashing
into. Under normal circumstances the sound would be like thunder, but
without the wind in the air it has a dull, muted sound. Nevertheless the
effects are still felt. The Orlanthi, with spear, sword and axe, break
their opponents (success vs failure, minor victory to the Orlanthi), and
the wild women again using their strange magic call spirits of the
fallen driving off the remaining Lunars (success vs failure, minor
victory to the Orlanthi).

As the women chase the remaining Lunars away with the blood-red ghosts
of their own fallen, Jareena recollects (success) where she has heard of
such activity. Although quite contrary to her own profession, the cult
is distantly related. "Sorana Tor", she explains. "The Goddess of human
sacrifice. Very old magic. Blood magic, not like the air, but related to
the earth."

Jareena's thoughts on this matter are interrupted however, by the
Orlanthi who are getting menacingly close to the Fellowship. They appear
less than pleased with those who unfurl a red banner, by those who seem
to come from all corners of Genertala - like the Lunar Empire, and who
bring with them chaos-tainted Telmori. Still Minaryth implores that the
Fellowship are allies, but the Orlanthi seem less than convinced. Some
seem to thing the Fellowship are agents of the Empire, who are not above
such trickery as attacking their own forces to gain even an even better
strategic location. They begin to surround the Fellowship, their weapons
still at the ready as the argument rages on.
