Azhur and his knights safely rallied King Broyan :
- « Hail King ! He shouted to the barbarian leader. The Fellowship of Talor has dismissed the opponent’s scouts and we, the four horsemen of the West, offer you a disorganized enemy front line. My friend, it is the best that we could do for you with so few forces. Now the price of your freedom is in your own hands and in the famed bold determination of your people. Your enemies are strong and numerous, but discipline has somehow left their ranks.”
Putting his squadron in order, Azhur joined the kingly guards. The riders appeared astoundingly fresh and ready to restart a fight. The loskalmi addressed to the heortling king:
- “If you accept us, we will be happy to be the shields that protect your house and destiny. Our heavy armors proved their values against their petty javelins… and if is speed or impact is needed, our war horse are stronger than yours. We are at your command, King !”

OOC: Yes, unless Rikku can deflect with his sickle he was pretty screwed :)
Rikku rolls around in pain but manages to find some material and tries to apply first aid (First Aid 15)

Azhur's makes a break through the Lasadag Lions using an unusual
combination of trickery, strength and speed. The Lions, who were
planning to engage in melee, find themselves having to give chase and
attack with javelin (1). Again javelins fly at Azhur's small forces, but
none strike true, as the party makes a break for it and tries to link up
with King Broyan's main group.
With Lions chasing after Azhur's force, a group of the same also
confront and give chase to the left and right wings of the King, with
Dorassa and Kalen on the one and Karala, Rikku and Da on the other.
Dorassa and Kalen attempt to fight the Lions, but their strength is
great (2). Kalen takes a minor wound but stands his ground, whereas
Dorassa is forced to flee with the bulk of the javelin throwers. As the
Lions close to melee, Kalen's superior combat skills win out as he
engages in a defensive retreat. Dorassa on the other hand gains the
speed of the wind and quickly reaches a rallying point (3).
On the other wing Rikku, Karala and Da face their onslaught. The initial
hurl of the javelins proves troublesome for the assault force (4). Rikku
is seriously injured when one strikes into his unarmoured leg; but Da
protects him with his shield and begins to carry him to safety. Karala
too fights the Lion javelin throwers, but suffers a minor wound for her
efforts. When the Lions close, Karala's wolf allies and her heavy
boomerang prove too much and they are able to engage in a very
successful fighting retreat, cutting a great path and bringing injury to
those in the way of her great boomerang and the teeth and claw of her
Telmori companions.
As per Azhur's plan he brings his small forces to the attention of the
'Shield'; King Bryon's main force. The Lions that gave chase to him now
face a larger force directly in their way and the assault and javelin
throwers have joined as well. Now is the time of counter-attack.
OOC: Any special actions during the counter-attack would be welcomed.
Also, if you could email any updated character sheets to me off-list it
would be appreciated as well! lev at mimesisrpg.com
1) I'll rule their primary ability is 'Give Chase', which they're not
too bad at (13) and they'll get an augment from javelin 10W (+3) for a
total of 16 (15, success). This is against Azhur's 19 (9W - 10 because
outnumbered) (10, success, +1 Hero Point to critical), minor victory
overall for Azhur.
2) The forces in these two groups is roughly equal, so I rule it's the
equivalent of a one-on-one battle in two parts. Kalen has ranged weapons
(guns) and iron armour which he can use against the Lions, (roll 16,
failure, bumped to success vs 10 success, bumped to critical) but the
lightly armoured Dorassa (roll 9 success, vs 16 success, bumped to
critical).
3) Kalen has axe and armour, Lions have broadsword and light armour
(roll 4, success, bumped to critical - even with -3 for two to one odds
vs roll 9, success), minor victory for Kalen. Dorassa rolled an 8 vs 18
for chase; and easy victory.
4) Rikku has no appropriate skill that I can find so default of 6, (roll
17) versus 10W javelin attack (roll 10, success, bumped to critical),
major defeat. Da succeeds (roll 4) vs 10W (roll 11, failure, bumped to
success, minor victory to Da). Karala 17 (roll 16, succes - just) vs 10W
(roll 11, fail bumped to success), minor defeat to Karala. Roll 1 for
Karala and Telmori (critical!) vs roll 17 -3 for being outnumbered for
Lions with broadsword; failure - major victory.

As Endless Warriors, thanks to Saint Talor's blessings, the four horsemen felt confident and stood together under the rain of javelins. There Azhur, relying on the war tactics learnt from his time within the Sparrowhawk's chivalrous order, informed his men that they would have to flee, but not as losing cowards just as bait for a trap.

Their faster runners will try to reach us to capture us and get the ransom before the slower ones, thus stretching their lines and weakening their order. King Broyan and our friends of the Fellowship will then be in an easier position to dispatch them swiftly. You ride before me, gentlemen!"
