[IC]
Speed and power were the superior strengths of the western heavy cavalry on the pagan foot soldiers. As Endless Warriors, thanks to Saint Talor’s blessings, the four horsemen felt confident and stood together under the rain of javelins. There Azhur, relying on the war tactics learnt from his time within the Sparrowhawk’s chivalrous order, informed his men that they would have to flee, but not as losing cowards just as bait for a trap.
- “We must not go too fast, making them run after us. Their faster runners will try to reach us to capture us and get the ransom before the slower ones, thus stretching their lines and weakening their order. King Broyan and our friends of the Fellowship will then be in an easier position to dispatch them swiftly. You ride before me, gentlemen!”

And to make the situation more credible, he bent on Blackmane’s ear and told his war stallion.
- “And now this very old good trick of the wounded lame horse, my friend.”

And he tried to make his horse limp as if he had been touched by a javelin, making more credible and possible the poursuit. Just his horse and armor were worth the capture, but if they were getting to close, both man and horse were ready to speed up.

Ah, my bad. You rolled lower so it's a marginal victory to Azhur's
forces: the javelins fall upon shield or strike foliage, and none strike
true.
