[HQ Ignorance] Re : Re : Scene 70: The Revelation of Sunstorm

At first, Azhur thought about jumping again in the debate, but his argumentative defeat was absolutely obvious and a wiser reminiscence came to his mind… It was during his first year among the knightly Sparrow Hawk Order. Newly knighted, he was feeling that his own order was underestimated, deserving more praise from the authorities and the population for the job done, especially compared to the widely appreciated and glorious Sparrow Order. Finally, he decided to complain about this situation to his superiors.
“You can’t have one thing and his contrary, answered the older knights, our order was created by knights from the Sparrow Order, dissatisfied by its size, visibility and inability to move as fast and swift as it should have done. Our Order works behind the scene, hidden in the wilds and only a few loves us because only a few knows us, but be sure that the ones who knows us, understand clearly that our work is precious and our missions critical… The price for this freedom of movement is humility and even if you come from a famous noble House, you’d better keep this in mind, you’ll be stronger in some confrontations.”

It was probably time for one of these confrontations, so Azhur remained quiet and silence for a moment. With the acceptance of his situation, slowly he began to realize that the barbarian sage was right: a banner needed wind to be seen in its full glory. From this idea came another one, he had always wondered where from the banner was taking its own power, could it be possible that it was from the wind itself? Then could the barbarian followers of Talor have brought wind for the banner? It had been woven at Arkhome and admitted being linked to trolls and Arkat, but then why a guardian shaped in a banner? This sounded unusual for Darkness and more suited for Air worshippers. This was done during strange times where terrible threats provoked unexpected alliances… in fact, just like now.

[OOC] What is the language used between us and Minaryth ? or is SwordSinger making the translation?

Considering Minaryth’s answer, Azhur turned to SwordSinger:
- “Trusted friend, you’re from the Dragon Pass, so do you think he is right? Could it be too difficult to join an open road to the North? Becoming the enemy of a mighty empire which extends between us and our targets isn’t a trivial decision.”

Then he turned to the rest of the Fellowship:
- “Dear companions, what’s your feeling? Should we try alone or do we align ourselves on Minaryth’s position?”

Finally he looked at the Banner and asked the guardian:
- “Could you advise us and explain us what is your link with the Wind?”

Whoops :)

Anzhur makes his speech imploring the sage to be attentive to his
concerns. But with the wind god entrapped, his words are brittle and
they do not carry. Raising his raspy voice to be heard, Azhur sounds
more desperate than regal. When he unfurls the red banner of valour with
great flourish, the lack of wind causes it it hang limply. The King
stands with all the attempts to be impressive, but instead looks like
impotent against the still coldness that surrounds.

Miranyth smiles wryly, but with some sympathy.

"You speak with the wisdom suited for a King. Perhaps this world of
diplomacy will suit you well. But your skills at geography and weather
is not sound! Have a look around you", Miranyth waves his hand to the
snow. "How many leagues per day do you think you can travel in this?
One? Two?"

He whispers. "It will take you years to get to the Blue Moon Plateau at
that rate. How much time do you have? And your healer cannot cast magic,
can she? She too is affected by this curse. How long will the Dragonewt
last? The Elf? How far will you go before Trolls attack you? Brigands?
Chaos? Yes, you'll defeat some of them, but they will defeat you
eventually. You will die, a long way from home, in the frozen
wastelands."

Raising his voice again, Miranyth exclaims, "If the Storm God is
liberated, I swear an oath that I shall do all I can as a member of the
Iron Ring to divine a wind that will blow you eastwards at the greatest
pace possible. Then you will be able to travel through to Teshnos,
Kralorelea, Ignorance and then into the land of the Lunars."

"And be assured young King, if you and your companions make good with
this the Kingdom of Sartar will be your ally to strike when the time is
right.."

Whoops.

We are dedicated to save Fronela from the furious cancer of the Kingdom of War, a far more evident threat than the Lunar Empire for the peoples of our lands, malkioni, hunshen or orlanthi alike. We are questing for the lost weapons of Talor the Laughing Warrior and if we follow your advice and do not travel through the moon empire, how will we reach the Blue Moon Plateau, the Far-East and then our countries? How will we succeed to achieve our quest? And even more… if we give some of our precious time to fight on the side of your Iron Ring, the defeated league of broken champions of a dying pagan god, how will this time loss helps our cause in return? Will the divine cart driver of you windy but blown god miraculously bring us to our destinations? Will your already vainquished champions fight for us in return?
