[OOC]
Dougie,
I already wrote about the wedding :
"To avoid showing any favor for the moment, Azhur cautiously decided to follow the rites of his wife’s faith without discarding any other possible blessings, thus asking for all cults present at the court to be part of the ceremony. He accepted graciously the words from the New Reformed Rokari Church, the Old Hrestol’s Faith, the Adrya’s songs, the Beastmen’s greetings and even foreign religious priests like Jareena or himself as a liturgist of the New Hrestoli Church (a position he still held until elected king)."
So fell free to add your own blessings if you feel entilted to.
Azhur would be honored (same from the telmori, even if it is shocking for somes).
Lev,
By New Hrestoli Church rules, taking the position of king directly from the liturgist position makes Azhur :
- a sinner to be redeemed or an heretic banned from the church?
- a liturgist who still have to pass the tests before being confirmed in the Noble caste ?
- a good move for Loskalm's foreign policy ?
- something else ?
Normally Azhur's own copy of his sacred book should give him the answer.
Well, this will not change his decisions, as his former faith in the New Hrestoli Chruch doctrine is dead for him, but it could be interesting to know the reaction from Loskalm.

Finding the labyrinthine politics incomprehensible,
Karala was
nevertheless happy to see her friend Anzhurs '
happiness with his new
bride. The wedding ceremony,  with its pomp and
civilised finery
impressed Karala mightily despite herself.
It is just rustic enough to keep Karala happy :-)On 21 Apr 2008, at 13:27, Lev Lafayette wrote:
Nah, while the ceremony might be simple and rustic by Seshnelan standards, the over-blown lavishness of it blows primative Reindeer-girl Karala away! - she has never seen such magnificent display... :)

I suspect initial impressions would be positive, as
God Learners are very clever at understanding the
various myths of Glorantha. However when it becomes
clear that their intent is to plunder these myths for
their magical power, they would be less than
supportive.

As a Spirit-Talker of her people, Karala Walks-With-The-Great-White-Wolf had learned the tales of these "God-learners" with their honeyed words hiding their greed to steal and rape the sacred stories. The Luatha had said that he had been punished for his crimes, but did not seem so sure that he had mended his outlook.

Hanging back from the group greeting the newcomer, Karala resolved to keep a close and suspicious eye on this soul-less sorcerer.

Dougie.
