When the elf-woman had vanished Baros had become distraught, wandering
off and only restrained from trying to follow her by his brother holding
him back. As they travelled Baros and Aalmon were withdrawn, seeming to
pay little attention to the remaining members of the fellowship. To the
others it seemed that as Baros became downhearted and in a black mood
this infected his brother so that even when they were apart Aalmon could
not break out of the cloud that hung over them.
The grimness of Aronalit did little to lift their moods, although Aalmon
did recover sufficient interest to listen quietly and attentively to
events as they unfolded. Occassionally he would take out an amulet he
had obtained in Senatos and as it dangled from its silver chain study
its spinning and turning as if it were a book that he were trying hard
to read. Aalmon took the news of Kraken's death with his now customary
quietness, yet there was a gleam of interest in his eyes.

He spoke "Shall we see if any of us can speak with this unresting shade?
We have come a long way to speak with the Judge, lets go and listen to
what is so important to say that it detains him here in the world of the
living."
