Karala had been withdrawn of late, lost in the maze of Civilised
Man's backstabbing intrigues . Here in the forest, she felt better,
purer. Was it strange that she felt so much more at home here,
surrounded by her peoples Predators, than in the claustrophobic stone
walled dens of so-called Civilised Man.
Biting her flawless lips pensively, she stepped forward into the
circle of debaters. I, with the help of old Thaneora, have indeed
determined a way for the Wolf-Men to side-step their Curse. I occurs
to me, however, that if perhaps we could modify this formula we have
been working on to only delay the oncoming of the curse then we might
have an advantage. If the children of the Wolf can stay out of reach
of the undead host during their most dangerous hours and if we could
then stimulate the Curse so that the Wolf Brothers could attack with
all their cursed strength when the vampire horde least expect it...
